1. THANKS FOR RIDING
Thank you for joining us on the sixth annual Worst Day of the Year Ride! Wasn't that great? Over 1,500 of you showed up to ride - even knowing it might rain. We'd like to also thank the 140 volunteers who helped make the ride happen.

By having fun - by riding your bike, drinking hot chai, eating doughnuts (don't pretend you didn't) and enjoying hot soup at the finish line - you helped raise funds to support the Community Cycling Center's bicycle programs for low income youth.

IN THIS ISSUE:

1. Thanks for riding

2. What did you think?

3. Photos and fun facts

4. Share the bike love

5. Best rest stop award

6. A note from the Monkey

4. SHARE THE BIKE LOVE
THANK YOU! The Community Cycling Center thanks you for making this the best Worst Day of the Year ride. By participating in the Worst Day of the Year ride, you helped raise money to support their earn-a-bike programs for low-income youth and adults. They thank you and the 1,500 new cyclists they'll serve this year thank you too. Program bikes are donated by people like you, donations are tax-deductible, and the bikes are refurbished by the CCC's professional mechanics.

The CCC needs bikes more than ever. The CCC is looking for durable bikes (they really need adult bikes, but will take kids bikes too). They accept donations at their shop during regular shop hours Tuesday - Friday 12pm to 6pm at 1700 NE Alberta. Give your old bike a new life! Donate your bike today.

For more information, give Neal a ring at 503-546-8864 or see their website.

5. BEST REST STOP
You drank their hot drinks, you noshed on snacks and you chose your favorite rest stop. And the winner is: The Community Cycling Center, for the second year in a row. Riders loved the pumpin' music and the fun atmosphere.

6. THE WEATHER REPORT
Our resident meteorologist, the Icy Monkey, predicted mild weather, a high of 53 degrees, and a 60% change of precipitation, but mostly in the late afternoon. He would like to convey to everyone how proud he is of his accurate prediction. He says that all along he knew it would rain just a little bit, but he didn't want to let on for fear that you'd be scared away.

The Icy Monkey would also like to thank all of you for coming out for the ride. If you took pictures of him, please send them in. The Icy Monkey is making a scrap book. Crazy monkey.

p.s. Did you miss out on getting Tireflys? Don't worry, all participants at The Night Ride on July 7 will get a free set, so make sure you sign up.
