The Community Cycling Center, founded in 1994, broadens access
to bicycling and its benefits through hands-on programs, volunteer
projects, and neighborhood bike shop.
They believe the bicycle is a tool for empowerment and a vehicle for change.
In 2008, with the help of people like you, the Community Cycling Center has
- Provided more than 1,200 children and adults from low-income families with refurbished bicycles, helmets, and safety education, working in
partnership with local social service organizations and public schools
- Strengthened community by engaging more than 1,000 volunteers to clean, recycle, and refurbish bicycles, support events and work on special projects
- Protected the environment by redirecting more than 2,500 bicycles away from landfills through their refurbishing and recycling programs.
 Thank you for participating in the Worst Day of the Year Ride, part of the proceeds from this ride will go toward supporting these important programs. You can also make a tax-deductible donation directly to the Community Cycling Center on their website.
